The Necklace: Our Own Book Club Experiment

As a member of the Lighthouse Bay Book Club our May, 2010 read was “The Necklace: Thirteen Women and the Experiment That Transformed Their Lives” written by Cheryl Jarvis.

Facilitating group friendship, shared experiences and women helping women we decided to take this idea and launch our own experiment.

Our version of “Jewelia” is a hand beaded Swarovski crystal and white pearl necklace that we aptly named “Crystal Bay”. Based on each members birthday month we will pass the piece from book club member to member.

New Exhibit at Neighborhood Lit

Between my volunteer work as a library board member or participation in book clubs I’ve had a longtime love of reading, libraries and education.  I am pleased to announce that Red Carpet Beading has an exhibit at Neighborhood Lit in Colts Neck, NJ.

Neighborhood Lit offers literacy enrichment workshops for kids in an interactive learning environment. Whether your child is a superior reader who needs to be challenged or a child who needs a little extra attention they offer a variety of programs designed to accelerate reading skills.
